Maria G. Lozano, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) began her career 20 years ago
working with Adolescent Parents and pregnant teens, continued to dive deeper into the work of community mental health, community organizing, and primarily working with Latinx & Black families, teens, and women. Maria’s work has focused and intertwined reproductive justice, trauma informed care, family violence intervention and education to provide support and guidance in the work she
engages with families and individuals. Maria’s work has birthed the space for her to have her own private practice. Expanding her work into workshops & discussion at national conference and university classes. Maria provides mentorship to folks interested in honoring the intersectionality of their work in the realm of birth work, and social work. Maria gained her Bachelors in Social and Behavioral Sciences from CSU, Monterey Bay.Graduating with a Masters of Social Work from CSU, Long Beach. Maria does the work she does to honor and uplift the names of her matriarchal ancestors; her mother, grandmothers, tias, and others in her lineage that superseded the norms of their times in order for myself, my daughter, and niblings to be in our power now and continue the journey of reclaiming ourselves from the powers of oppression.
